Efficacy of Electrical Stimulation for Dysphagia in Head and Neck Cancer Patients

This multi-site clinical trial will determine the efficacy of aggressive swallow therapy, with and without added electrical stimulation therapy, for improving swallowing function in patients with dysphagia after receiving radiotherapy for head and neck cancer.
Role:  Principal Investigator

NIH/ National Institute on Aging                       7/1/02 - 6/30/07.
Frontotemporal Dementia:  Genes, Images, and Emotions

Bruce Miller, MD Principal Investigator
Goals in Dr. Langmore’s  project were to identify sub-clinical indicators of abnormal motor function in the tongue, larynx, and/or velopharynx in patients who are suspected to have FTLD or other neurodegenerative diseases. Also to characterize the behavioral abnormalities in FTLD.
